Hats on for Ladies Day
By Sarah Dunn
WOMEN are being urged to dig out their best hats and posh frocks for the most glamorous greyhound event in the racing calendar.
Owlerton Racetrack's annual Ladies' Day on Tuesday is set to raise thousands of pounds for St Luke's Hospice.
Guests will include Lord Mayor Jane Bird, Mistress Cutler Janet Bridge, and Miss Sheffield Jamie-Lee Faulkner.
As well as the chance for a flutter on the racing the event includes a Pimms reception, hat competition and late disco.
John Gilburn, managing director, said: "We're keen to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause and make the event as glamorous as possible.
"I'm determined to make it a massive success."
